BYU Online Courses

The econ and government teacher at our school is notorious for only giving A's to pretty girls, so I talked to my counselor and he helped me figure out a way to avoid that by taking these online courses:
GOVT 46
ECON 043: Understanding Economics

Does anyone have any experience with these classes or BYU online classes in general?

Wow your counselor is very helpful, my counselor never does anything :/

Anyway, I have done a BYU course (not with my counselor’s help), it is pretty relaxing. I did ap psychology and 70% of your grade was open book multiple choice tests, and the last 30% is a proctored final exam. You can also retake each test for a small fee to make sure you get a high score. Really great way to boost your GPA for sure. It should take you about 20-24 hours total to complete, just make sure you take good notes and study well for your final exam.

If your objective is to get an A, you’ll do alright with a BYU course. I took a creative writing class which was almost entirely automated – save two short stories that a teacher grades – and did fine. The limited interactions I did have with the teacher were frustrating, and I didn’t get what I wanted out of the experience, but whatever.

Of course, this could also be course-dependent thing. Bottom line is, though, if you get good grades in HS, you should get a good grade in a BYU course, if that is the concern.

BYU online courses are alright. They’re beneficial when say, trying to get rid of a worthless P.E. Req but it’s a real drag to do those big packets. I’d say it’s worth it, but the boredom will annihilate you

Kevination - Did you end up taking the GOVT 46? How was it?
