I give chances back too :). And if you came on my thread and decided not to comment, THEN SHAME ON YOU.

oh and I am only one in my school to do EA MIT I think. TONS of SCEA Stanford >.<

holy crap, your stats are god like.
Although you seem like the typical asian (mit and caltech with amazing stats) so i dunno.
I am asian also, please don’t take offense.

好, 我会给您一个"chance"!

LOL - I just felt the need to respond that way after seeing your thread title. (I’m Chinese too, by the way)

Your interests are pretty well-defined (economics and music are the two that jump out from your application), although for the schools you mentioned, you will be competing against an extremely competitive pool, especially since you’re an Asian male from an over-represented state. Have you tried taking the AMC/AIME yet? I think the MIT application even asks for scores on those tests, although whether you choose to report them or not is completely optional. Also, have you considered entering your science research into the Intel STS or Siemens Westinghouse competitions? Those are very prestigious as well.

Either way, whether you decide to do one of these or not, you’ll still need awesome essays. I don’t know exactly how good your recommendations are, but make sure they say something about your uniqueness and ability to contribute.

SBCC looks like a match ;)

agreed :stuck_out_tongue: …

this kid isnt even Asian people! Look at his display name! Its a Montenegro Last Name!

it’s the name of my favorite tennis player thank u very much

bump…

Seriously? -_-

Even though MIT and Caltech are extremely difficult to get into, i think you have a legitimate shot. your Math on SAT I should be improved to an 800 for caltech though. your stats are amazing: great ranking, gpa, ap scores, awards…everything.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/782289-uva-unc-duke-chance-me-ill-chance-back.html</a></p>

You have a great chance! I think you will probably get into one of the two. I agree with the above poster though, it would help if you could get your math up to an 800, which shouldn’t be too hard considering you’ve already gotten a 790, and an 800 on your SAT II. It seems like your rank, GPA, and AP scores are all exceptional, so I believe you’re definitely qualified. Best of luck!:)

Your thread really stood out.

If you can stand out like that to the admissions officers then you’re in, dude.

you’re in

just don’t mess up your interviews/essays/have bad recs

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/786572-duke-ed-swarthmore-ed2-chances.html</a></p>

i have to admit, i looked at this thread only b/c of the funky font.

It sounds like you’re pretty much a great candidate for MIT. Good Luck! =)

Affirmative action would have to be worse than anyone could imagine for you not to get in. Good luck.

Your chances are probably better at Caltech than MIT, but you’re got a good shot at both

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/786164-chances.html</a></p>

Nice stats. I would say match for MIT.

You have stunning stats and achievements. I think you are a great candidate for either school. Best of luck…

You need to ask about your chances? My god…
