C, am I out????

Hi everyone! A just had a quick question- I know that UCLA is a fairly competitive school. Recently I got a C on my report card, I was wondering if this will stop me from getting into UCLA???

I have a 4.0 GPA and am pretty involved inside and outside of school, but will the C on my report card greatly lessen my chances? Thanks!!!!

It will not.

I had a C+ junior year (it was AP, but I don't think that will matter that much. Your overall is still good.)

What if you have 3 C grades?

just get a 3.0. that's all...A's, B's, and C's are fine. if you have a 3.0 but have some C's, no one will even care.

I think he's applying for Fall 09

Thanks for the help everyone. I had another quick question- on the collegeboard website it says UCLA's ACT range is from 24 to 31. What should I get to be fairly safe? I know its always better to get above the required score, but will a 27 or 28 be alright?

I respectfully disagree with zzzzboy, a 3.0 GPA will not get you into UCLA unless you have outstanding extracurricular activites, are NMF, have very high SAT scores, or something else that will help your chances.

There are many valedictorians or students with 4.5 weighted GPAa who don't get accepted to UCLA. UCLA is a "reach" for almost anyone.

My current high school senior daughter DID get accepted to UCLA this year. Even though she had a 4.5 weighted GPA, 2170 SATs and lots of extracurriculars, we were not counting that she would get accepted.

. . . but we were thrilled when she did.

^^ I think zzboy was thinking the OP is a current senior; you need to maintain a 3.0 to stay admitted.

3 Cs is okay. Maintain at least a 3.0 GPA.

lol yea the thread title made me think he got in already
