C.C is useful for students/ (reply to C.C is too harsh discussion)

Hello. I do not know a lot about the admission process. But, I can tell you that when people come to C.C, they are looking for help, and honest opinions.

C.C, for the most part, is where high school students (mostly seniors) come to share their thoughts and opinions. And, as you know, there are people from different backgrounds. Different race, gender, interests, etc. But there is one thing I know for sure everyone has in common and that is everyone is trying to help others out.

When I see Chance Me threads, I actually give a couple minutes (sometimes a little longer) to give my best. (this is my new account just so you know) Yes, these chance threads are sometimes harsh. However, I believe that most of the times they are accurate.

The CC is too harsh discussion said, "Sometimes being a good, hardworking student is enough for a school, even the Ivies from time to time" Is this true though? Yes, I have seen people get into IVY LEAGUE schools (and schools around that level) with average at best GPAs and Test Scores and sometimes even with average ECs and RECs. However, this does not happen regularly. To be honest, I have seen only a few. If you are a hardworking student and you try hard, you could get that acceptance letter. But, for the most part (I actually want to say almost always), you have to be really stellar all-around to get in.

In the end, you are the one who is making the decision. You choose where to apply and where to attend afterwards. However, inputs help you a lot! It certainly did to me! These chance threads and ones who post discussions are not professionals and NEITHER am I. We are just going through the same process together. Now, let's just give each other a hand.

Therefore, I think C.C (and its members) is doing a fine job of helping each other out. It helped me a lot in the past and I hope its the same for all of you guys.

I am not trying to argue with anyone here. I am just sharing my honest opinion. I really appreciate the fact that a community like this exists, where students can help each other and wish each other good luck. World is not as bad as people say!

Good Luck everyone.

Even I get requests for chancing multiple times a week; I think almost everyone that asked a request from me appreciated some input on my part.
