Okay i know it’s kinda early bc school just started but here goes:
High school senior, perspective Cell/Molecular Bio major.
My school doesn’t offer AP’s but some of our “Honors” classes cover a similar curriculum.
GPA: 3.71 UW / 3.92 W, been in top 25% of my grade’s GPA distribution since Junior Fall
SAT: (So far, not final) 1470, essay 7/10
waiting for subject tests, took Math 2 and Molecular Bio
Classes throughout this year: Honors Enviro Sci, Honors Stats, non-honors English elective, Honors Spanish Literature, Honors Cell/Molecular Bio, Adv Marine Science, Honors Game Theory, Adv Comparative Animal Physiology, and Digital Photography.
already took Honors US History and Calc AB (got A- through both, but didn’t do well on AP exams)
EC’s:
President of my school’s LGBT activism club
Active member of Bio Club
Senior Editor for school’s satirical newspaper
4-year Varsity Swimmer, team captain this year
3-year Varsity Water Polo player
Lifeguard in summer at pool for summer camps
Volunteer swim lesson instructor at local YMCA
Year-round competitive swimmer with club team (not looking to swim in college though atm)
Also, both my parents have their Bachelor’s degrees from Northwestern, but I don’t think that has influenced me wanting to here bc I enjoyed my tour and visit beyond what my parents have talked about, plus i want to study something different than what they studied.
Other schools on my radar for RD:
McGill
Rochester Institute of Tech
University of Minnesota
UC Davis
Northeastern
Drexel
