Will have great recs from Sec. of Air force and a general I know.

Status: White, Male, Average income family

*** TAKE ALL HONORS/AP CLASSES INCLUDING DUAL ENROLLMENT***

Do you have any leadership in CAP? Your GPA looks good enough..what's your class rank? Leadership potential is the only area i see lacking...unless you have a good position in CAP. If so, you are looking pretty decent. Stay ontop of your nominations and such.

What is "future page?" Are you talking about being a page at the Capitol? If so, that will undoubtedly affect your school activities as you'll be going to the page school in DC. Also, most (if not all) MOCs use citizen committees to select their nominees to avoid any charges of nepotism.

As for your great recs from the generals, be sure that these people really know you well. If they are merely friends of the family or some other distant acquaintence, their recs aren't going to make much of an impression.

I've worked with a lot of candidates over the years. Every single one that has received an appointment has done it the "old-fashioned" way -- strong grades and scores, demanding courseload, good teacher recs, good CFA, leadership positions in or out of school, varsity sports, etc. And, getting stuff submitted early.

I would concentrate on this "core" rather than on trying to get an "in" with your MOC or getting letters from generals. Just my $0.02.

Your abosolutely right. I am concentrating. I take all honors/AP/Dual enrollment college clases. Also, I have 2 varsity letters in wrestling and track and excel inw restling. Im in scouts,CAP,NHS, and have 75+ community service hours. Also, these people are (at least the general) VERY close friends of my DAD so I see him in my house everyday. We have had discussions and everything.

Once you get your real SAT's then more can be said. If they end up to be those, thats exactly what my son's were. They didn't predict my son's very well. What year in school are you? Are you involved with school stuff besides sports? They don't weight the GPA. They give a lot of importance to class rank. Sometimes it seems prudent to get the better grade than have ALL AP/IB courses. My son combined courses (took all IB MATH/SCIENCE and regular English. Had unweighted 3.95/ranked top 5%. He is in plebe summer as we speak.

Before you waste any more of your time responding to FutureUSAFApilot, perhaps you should take a look at the USAFA forum and see how this young man responds to those who have offered their help....

Wow! You are one rude kid who is immature and at this point would be an a black mark on any Academy in my opinion. I also read some of your other posts and you just don't know how to take advice and know nothing about the way someone who wants to attend an Academy is to act. Grow up.

This guy needs the Confused treatment. Just look at this trash he posted about African Americans in another thread:

"omg im just gonna get out of my silent shell and say this. THEY ARE DIFFRENT. Hate to say it but its true. Doesnt make me a racist. Here are some FACTS

1/3 of all black people have charges on misdemenors or felonies.

The majority of black people are in jails. WOW isnt the TOTAL population of blacks like 11%? Odd.

I think about our great kids and all the other great kids at the academies. "Pilot" has no chance of measuring up to them. He shows no sense and no heart. I'm sad for him. He'll be a mean little bugger as an adult. And he's a wrestler! For shame!

I still think he's playing a silly game. He's probably just giggling about how he's pulling the wool over the eyes of people who were sincerely trying to help him. There have been a couple others like that here. For all we know it could be the same kid who keeps popping up with a different screen name. I'd just love to see him an at Academy with our kids as cadre. (very evil grin)

And to expound upon the bigotry, my favorite quote of the year from the esteemed Frenchman Zaphod.

Were it up to me, I'd have the American armed forces in Iraq face east and start walking forward, slaughtering everything in sight, until they reached water. I would have fused the Middle East in one giant glow-in-the-dark glass-covered parking lot on September 12th, and damn the outcry. You wouldn't have to worry about facing to pray to Mecca because it would be in orbit, so no matter where you lifted your ass to pray would be equally valid. To borrow a phrase from a fellow alumni, the Koran would have been read only in hell."
