C in a class, but still high GPA

In my freshman year of high school I got one C and a couple of B's (the C was in honors geometry). However, from there on I received straight A's and managed to get a 3.85 GPA unweighted. Even if my GPA is good, how will that C make my application look? And those B's too, if it matters, they were in honors classes.

Thanks

It shouldn’t be too bad depending on what colleges you are applying to. Obviously, if you want to apply to the ivies, the C will reflect negatively. However, the fact that you had an upward trend will help you.

It will look fine. 3.85 is a great GPA, and colleges won’t be concerned about a small blunder you made in your freshman year. Upward trends are always good

Would you say the C and the upward trend cancel out?
