So, I'm currently in 10th grade, and I just received a C+ in French 2, and I have always had high hopes of shooting for the IVY schools, however, due to this situation, I feel like my hopes have vanished into thin air. This year has been my worst (Freshman GPA-3.95), and I believe my Junior year will be my best. I'm very involved with leadership and extra-curricular's (I'm Directors and heads of many locally and nationally recognized organizations, and I also run two businesses).

I just feel like I have fell into a very deep whole, and I have no way of getting out! I'm very stressed out, and I feel like I'm going to vomit; a C+ usually means no chances of getting into an IVY school.

I got a C+ mostly due to my teacher's hatred towards me. She hates me with a passion. If i write a comical, funny, and interesting personal statement regarding the reason I received the C+, should it turn out alright with the college admission officiers?

I really need your help critically thinking through my situation, and what the best why of going about this stressful situation.

Thanks.

Really? This sounds…implausible. Why does she hate you?

It’s a long story, but she hates me because I ask too many questions, she believes most of my questions are irrelevant, and she just thinks i’m annoying, I have total proof of her unfair treatment towards me; I have compared my test as well as my classmate’s test. Though we both marked the same answer on our scantron, I was the only one who got points taken off.

So, if you have proof, did you seek redress at school?

If you can prove that its not just one occurrence (but rather a pattern), then you may be able to have your school override the c+

Ask for a meeting with the teacher and bring the two tests.
If she won’t correct the error, then ask for a meeting with the department head.

I disagree with the above poster. Gather evidence before you say anything. If you bring the two tests now and show her, she’ll simply change your test grade which may not even affect your current c+.

With one test as evidence she can simply say it was a mistake. With three it becomes evident that she plays favorites.

By the way, aren’t scantrons graded by machines? My instinct tells me that this was in fact an honest mistake.

Dude chill out. Don’t sweat the small stuff.
One C+ doesn’t automatically keep you out of any school.
I’m sure there are at least a few people at HYPSM etc. that got one C+ in high school.
