I'm a sophmore and I currently have a C in my alg. 2 class, and it isnt even an honors class.
i am devastated because i have never gotten a B in any of my math classes. I know this will hurt my gpa, but will it affect me so much that the higher tier UC's would decline me just on that one C on my transcript?
im really depressed right now, and im actually borderline B-, but with finals coming up, i honestly dont know if i can keep it from going to a C, and he hasnt updated grades for 2 months, meaning i probaby have an even lower grade.
what will this C do to me? oh and I have all A's in my other classes, and I have 1 AP class.

I’m a Sophomore and I’m taking Honors Algebra II next semester (middle January). But I know how you feel. When I was taking Physics my freshman year, I did bad on every test, didn’t understand most of the things it was a mess. :S I had a low D in the class and it was near the final. I studied 3 weeks before it and managed to do well it pulled my grade up to a C, my first C on a report card! Anyways, if you do get a C don’t stress over it. It’ll make you feel even worse and regretful. You still have 2 more years. Let this be a reminder to tell you to: study more, ASK for help, and do practice problems. Colleges like to see improvement as well. When I received my first C, I realized I can prevent that. By doing that, I got straight A’s for this term and for this term…How?.. because I applied myself. Good Luck :)

It kind of depends on which semester you are doing. Semester A is considered relatively easy, so yes, that may harm you. However Semester B is considered relatively hard so that may be accounted for. If you have A’s in all your other classes the GPA will only drop a tiny bit, because the AP class adds an extra point.

Your greater concern should be that this reflects a lack of mathematical intelligence, which more importantly than which college you can attend, drastically affects what your options will be in life. Hopefully, you do well in the humanities. :)
