I think that I will be getting a C- in AP Bio this semester...they said that you can't get lower than a C...is a C- okay? I will have a 3.0 unweighted gpa.

I'm not 100% sure, but from what I've heard, they will only rescind your admission to UC's if you get a D or F in one or more classes during your senior year.

I think C- counts as a C so lower than a C would be a D or F. I'm not 100% sure either, but I don't think UCs look at pluses and minuses.

As long as your school considers a C- passing you should be OK.

C-? Eek! What happened?

Berkeley only rescinds your admission if you get D's or F's.

Yup. Any C is still a C, you're fine. But I'm in the gutter, my Calculus grade is 63% and I need an A on the final to get a C in the class. But then again, since my Calculus class is being taken at a community college, it's not bound to the Berkeley contract, so if I fail it, I'll be fine, but bummed out. At least I got a good grade first semester.

WAIT the college classes aren't bound to the same contract!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!? holy **** i feel saved. i've been working so hard in my community college calc class, and if I'm lucky and the final test gods bless me, I MIGHT pull a C. I have been worrying all semester because I thought they'd rescind the offer if I got a D (A's in all other classes).

So community college grades don't count in your GPA? What if you're taking them in place of a high school class?

Depends. If you're taking a college class that counts as part of your high school GPA and appears on your transcript with a letter grade, then it's still bound to the contract. If that's not the case, then chill out. =D

FYI that grade you get in a community college course will be looked at by grad/professional schools, if you choose that path in the future.

Yeah, good thing I'm planning to major in political science. I can always take calculus over again at Cal anyway, since most majors make it a requirement for the most part (if I chose that path anyway).

damnit it shows up on my transcript

Nah...I got a C in English AP and some other pretty crappy grades in senior year, I was fine. My teachers were always disappointed in me and thought I would flunk out of Berkeley if I continued enjoying life. And I've gotten mostly A's so far at Berk.

Well, AP English is huge drag come 2nd semester senior year, I'm shocked I have a 85%.
