Hi everybody I'm applying to Columbia for my first choice and I want to know if it will be impossible for me to get in after getting a C+ in my AP Calc midterm. I'm still a junior so I skipped Precalc to take this class, and I've been keeping a decent A- average for the first two marking periods. Will they still be unimpressed if I bring my grade up in the last two marking periods? I'm also taking 4 other AP classes (Chem, Psych, English, and APUSH 2) and Honors Physics, which I have all A's/A-s on.

You really shouldn’t have skipped Pre Calc. And It hurts your chances a lot, but you can still get in, it’s just gonna be a lot harder now.

Bombing a midterm in senior year could be an issue, but in junior year it gets averaged out with the rest of the year. Colleges probably won’t even see the C+ since they only get your transcript and its yearly grades. If you can finish the year strong and get back to an A- average you have absolutely nothing to worry about, and even a B+ is reasonable if, as you say, this is a very advanced class for juniors at your school.
