I am freaking out big time. I had a B in my AP computer science class, and I was trying to raise it up to an A. However, when I took my final exam, I rushed, and ended up failing it big time. My grade went down by 12% and I am now at a C. This is a nightmare because I want to major in Computer Software Engineering and minor in Computer Science, and it is my dream to go to a school like Stanford or MIT to do so.
Will getting a C on my Computer Science class ruin my college and career dreams? Please help.
Normally I would say no, but…a class directly related to your major, when applying to the most selective schools in the country? It may not “ruin” your app but it certainly doesn’t give them reason to accept you over thousands of other applicants.
Have safeties and match schools. Good luck.
You will likely not get into any Ivy League schools with a C on your report card, unless you have some sort of inside connections. Or unless you have something really amazing I put in your transcript, like making a app for the App Store that is successful. Don’t worry, you could still go to one of those schools for graduate school. Or you could still get into a less renowned school with more scholarships
