This is my first post on CC. I've been in a dark place in the last few days and I just want honesty.

I received my first C ever, and I take full responsibility for it.
Please tell me, realistically, if I can still make it into UC Berkeley.
You may think I'm silly, but with all this college pressure I just need to have an honest answer. Thanks!

GPA (weighted/unweighted)
Freshman year: 4.0/4.0
Sophomore: 4.5/4.0
Junior: 4.4/3.4 <- Although it's over a 4.0 I received a C so I don't know if it even matters anymore.
Junior year classes:
AP Chem: B
AP Lang: A
AP French: A
AP Calc BC: C
AP US: A

I am a JV athlete and have been doing Swimming for my entire high school career (not good enough to be recruited!)
I am a president of GSA and Treasurer of NHS
I volunteer at an animal clinic for 2 hours a week.
Violinist
I went to Stanford EPGY program over the summer :)

This is not meant to be a resume/brag sheet. I am just extremely worried that all my work has gone to waste because of this.

1 outlier among very high grades other wise. These are usually disregarded by most admission committees. This one C is not going to break you. Your rigor and stats are great. Wondering what your SAT is, but no i don’t think this one grade will hurt you nearly as much as you think it will. I still think ur very competitive for berkeley. Explain what happened in this one class and I bet you money that the admissions office cuts you slack on this C

Like others have stated, that one C will not be the end of you. Just make sure not to repeat that C in your second semester. Try to get straight As if you can because this will show the admissions office that you’ve realized your mistake and took the step to improve. But otherwise you look solid overall so you should be fine. Just dont slack off and keep working hard.
