C+ in first semester of senior year

Hi there! Now I’m sure this type of question pops up a few times a year, but I must ask…will colleges rescind admission due to one C+ in the first semester of senior year? I’ll try to keep the details brief.

I was recently accepted to Middlebury through early decision, which I am absolutely ecstatic about. I’m extremely happy that my hard work has paid off, and I’ve been extra careful to avoid senioritis during my final year of high school. While I was able to finish the semester with solid A’s in 5 of my 6 classes (two of which are AP: AP French IV and AP Eng. Lit.), I encountered an uphill battle when it came to Honors Physics. I chose to take the class because I wanted to challenge myself in my fourth year of science, but this class proved to be much, much more than I expected. I’m proud of myself for making it through the semester and bouncing back to a C+ after an extremely rough start, but I’m worried that this grade will have a negative impact on my admission decision.

I should also mention that I plan on majoring in International Politics and Economics, my cumulative unweighted GPA is 3.8, and my cumulative weighted GPA is 4.3. Taking this into account, do you think my acceptance to Midd is in jeopardy? Math and physical science aren’t my strong suits, and I would hate for that to ruin a great opportunity :-S

No, you won’t get rescinded for just one C+ at Middlebury.

Nope. Midterm grades don’t matter anyway . You have time to improve but even if you don’t, I don’t think they would rescind for a C.
