<p>Hi Everyone!
So unfortunately in the advanced math class I am taking this year (junior year) I got a C+ in. My school is very rigorous and I got A's in all my other classes including four APs.
I'm not interested in majoring in a math/science in college, but I'm worried that after seeing a C+ for one class during one semester junior year, highly selective colleges will automatically remove me from the running. Thankfully I have one full semester to bring my grade to an A for second semester, and I know colleges like to see improvement. How much of an effect will this grade have on my chances of getting into highly selective universities, and is there any thing in particular I can do to ameliorate this? also, do college apps give you an area to explain a bad grade, or something of the sort?
I do have interesting extra curricular activities.
I think i'll do well on my upcoming SAT, APs, and subject tests. Speaking of subject tests, would getting a good grade (750+) on the Math II, and a 770+ on my SAT I math soften the blow of my weak math grade for this semester? I'm generally good at math, but I basically hit a wall and couldn't bounce back from my mistakes. :(</p>
<p>Thanks so much for your help!!!</p>
