C+ in spanish, will it hurt much?

Well, I am getting a C+ in spanish, a 79.96 to be exact, and the teacher refuses to round :(, even though my low grade is partly her fault, because when I came back from being sick, she told me I missed nothing, and then when grading rolls around, she failed me on a paper because I did not do it, and it was given on the day I was sick. I am going to be an economics or business major, and I have As in all my other subject (A- in AP Econ, A- in AP Bio, A in English and A in math), so I don’t think that a C+ in a class that has nothing to do in what I want to be would hurt me? Correct me if I am wrong please…

It depends on where you're applying, but no, it shouldn't look that bad even at the top schools as long as your other grades are good (they seem to be).

Thanks... the hardest school I am applying to is Brown, and the JHU, Tufts, Wash U, CMU, Colgate, NYU stern, Lehigh and a few others...

unfortunately, non-hooked admits to top schools have no C's on their report card. Suggest you ask your GC to explain in his/her report.

I don't think your C will hurt your GPA since three of your classes are weighted and they are A's.

2 of my classes are weighted...

Well, two weighted classes is still good... don't worry... I think I'm getting a C in Math (first semester).

Thanks.. I hope so.

wut about a D? hehe...

don't you think a "D" is a little harsh? Lol. at my school, if u get a D, u get an F. it's crazy. So cherish your "C".

Um i've noticed on allot of people's stats that they post C+ or B-. Do colleges look at how high or low your letter grade is? I though an A- or A+ is considered the same thing. My transcript just says A or B and the credit given is the same also.

My transcript gives letter grades only (no numbers), but they do show - or +.

Colleges don't look at the minuses or pluses, i think.

crazy, I got a D in AP Bio last term (68) and probably gonna fail this term because I don't do homework and stuff. Still accepted to a top 25 school. Go figure, right?

At my school an A- is a 3.7 and an A is a 4.0, the + and - make a difference in terms of gpa.

i'm not worried about getting into colleges, cause i already got most of my acceptances, i'm more worried about those schools that withdraw offers, mine is a regular class and it's japanese, which is unrelated to wut i'm going to do in college, which is engineering
