@rhythmandbible I want to major in Computer Science and go into software engineering. (Also, was the question mark after “congrats” intentional? )

@Ndukwe132 No, it was NOT intentional Lol…It should have been an exclamation point Haha
I’m considering Duke to, but I want to do Computer Science and Global Health

Native American finalist, Eastern Band of Cherokee in NC. Accepted Stanford University, Dartmouth, Wake Forest and Michigan - Will attend Stanford University. 4.9 GPA, completed 10 AP’s, hope to double major Political Science, Native Studies with focus on Public Policy.

Did anyone get a date of notification…all I could get was mid to late April. Wonder what date announcements went out last year. Also, will how much Pell someone qualifies for have an impact? I qualified for Pell but not for very much.

@Sinaj The amount of Pell grant you receive is not very important. They just want to ensure that you’re “poor enough” by verifying that you qualify for the Pell grant. Also, with someone as accomplished as you are, you should be ranked high enough within your ethnic group that you won’t have any problems. I hope you get the Gates Scholarship!

@Sinaj Does either Dartmouth or Stanford have a regional send - off ceremony/reception? If so, are you going? I know I have a couple for Princeton…

Stanford does (although the closest to us is in Atlanta some two hours away). Not sure about Dartmouth as I declined last week and now am not getting their email updates for incoming freshmen. Native students also come in a week earlier to acclimate and “bond”. My brother enjoyed both experiences greatly.
