C on Midyear report...YIKES!!

Hey guys,

I had a mix of A's and B's on my report cards throughout my high school year, except for up till now. I manage to get good grades in the 1st quarter of my senior year, but i got my first C in an AP class during the second quarter. i was sick during the second quarter, so I believed that the midyear report wouldn't be an accurate representation of my academic performance in school. What should I do at this point? any suggestions?(btw....its kinda depressing to get a C in an AP calculus BC class when i'm majoring in engineering. i hope I'm not gonna get rejected from all of the schools I applied to for that reason)

do you have any medical records to prove that you were indeed sick? you could ask your guidance counselor to explain that your illness affected your performance in the mid-year report. if your GC already sent the mid-year, he/she could just shoot the colleges an email or call. anything really. but explain.

Thanks for the advice. My GC suggested that I write a letter explaining what happened and send my transcripts along with it. but Im afraid that it’s a bit less genuine coming from me. unfortunately, i don’t have any medical records to prove that I was sick.

did u apply for rd? or were u ed deferred?

I applied for regular decision to the engineering school.
