I recently received a letter grade of "D" for my Precalculus class this semester. This means I must retake the course and replace the grade with an A or B. However, if I were to fight for a "C" that I deserve, I can't retake the class in order to get a higher GPA.

Pro's of "C":
-Don't need to spend most of my summer retaking a course.
Con's of "C":
-Lowers my GPA.
-Pay for Summer School.

Pro's of "D":
-Retake for better GPA.
Con's of "D":
-Need to Spend Most of My Summer in Summer School.

HELP!!!!! They both look bad, but what's the better way to go?

I contemplated this same exact dilemma a while ago for a psychology class.

I was getting a C (it was an online class and I was in Vegas, go figure), and I asked a school counselor whether I should take the C and accept the 2.0, or get a D so I could retake it for an A. That woman told me, in an extremely condescending tone, "Are you...joking? I would never suggest for any student to fail a class. Why would you even ask that?"

Needless to say, I have no idea why I listened to her. Stupid **** screwed over my GPA.

Go to summer school. It's a pain in the ass but if you're planning on going to college or taking AP, you need a good basis in math as kayf has said earlier.
