C2 sat prep class?

Ive seen good reviews on them from yahoo locals.
has anyone taken their class?

C2- Cambridge

IMO, they are over priced, though time to time i heard of some sucess stories.
Basically if youre motivated, self-study is all you need really. Otherwise, C2 might be worthy of its hefty tuition.

ohh ok. ugh im trying to be self motivated but its starting to die down now. like the SATs is starting to be really bland and taking practice tests just takes soo long. but i'm still trying! thanx

I go to a prep school, and C2 is by very far the most recommended prep course. The one problem I have with them is that the entrance exam is very hard, and that is the scale to determine the number of hours needed. There are some people who do about the same on the entrance exam and the actual SAT without additional prep, but there are some who score very much higher (for me, a 17-something verses a 2080). I took 26 hours of C2 M and raised my score sixty points between two test dates. Not having to go back to check one's own answers saves a great deal of time that is spent instead on answering more problems.

It is not accurate to say that self-motivated studying is enough without putting limitations on the statement. If you don't have the base skills in an area, you may or may not have the ability to teach them to yourself, and that is not something someone can just assume. Are you sufficiently competent in M, reading and writing to teach yourself a concept you have never learned and grasp it well enough to apply it to any problem (or else willing to forfeit those points)? For me, the answer was No, I am not skilled enough to do that in maths, so I worked on only M at C2. Also ask yourself, if you actually have enough time to accomplish what you need to (in between firm commitments on your time). If I was going to spend two hours a day on SAT prep, I was sacrificing a lot, so I needed to get the most out of those two hours (working with only one break, having my answers checked for me, working with people who could see my strengths and weaknesses). If I had had more time on my hands, I could have perhaps accomplished less in those two hours and added more time in elsewhere.
