Anybody have any experience with CA's disabled vet benefit? According to the CA Vets website, the child of a disabled vet can get tuition and fees waived at Cal State and UC schools. Sounds too good to be true, especially given the state's budget mess of late.

Thanks for any info.

I don’t have experience with the particular benefit, but that sounds about right. The student would need to meet all the criteria in [CalVet | Tuition Fee Waiver for Dependents of Service-Connected Disabled Veterans](http://www.calvet.ca.gov/VetServices/CollegeFeeWaiver.aspx)

Basically be the child of a disabled or deceased veteran, earn less than 11k per year (as a student, not including parents’ income), prove they are a CA resident and that they are the child of the vet and they should be able to attend any UC, CSU, or CCC that they are admitted to with waived tuition.
