Chances for Cal Poly SLO ? Cal Poly Pomona? SJ State? CSULB? CSU Monterey?
I live in Northern California
I am also looking into UCSC and my reach is UCD… Chances? I am looking for a “feel” before I apply.
When I used Cappex, it’s ratings said I have very strong chances for almost all of my picks … But curious what you all have to say.
Do you have any ECs? (for UCs)
But judging from your stats, I’d say
UCD - Reach
SLO - High Match/Low Reach
UCSCCSULB - Match/High Match
CPP/SJSU/CSUMB - Match
As a 3rd grader, I was identified as a GATE student with test scores in the adult range. I spent 3 years in school theater performances, 3 years working 25hrs a week during the school year.
My parents never graduated college and we are lower middle class.
Thanks for your input.
I am assuming that UCD is a reach … And SLO is a reach also… But maybe I have a wee better chance with SLO than Davis. Right?
UCD: Reach (GPA and test scores below average)
SLO: Low Reach/High Match (same as above along with a 14 % acceptance rate for Bio)
You get extra MCA points as First Generation so that should help
UCSC: High Match
CSULB/CPP/SJSU: Match
CSUMB: Safety
I am new to the lingo … What does low reach / high match mean?
UCSC is really my 1st choice. I’ve been there and it just feels right … But if offered UCD or SLO , I’d go to either. I just want realistic input for my chances . I’m practical that way.
Chancing hierarchy from best chance to least chance.
Safety>Low Match>Match>High Match>Low Reach>Reach>High Reach
High Match is usually a 50/50 chance. You do have a good chance at UCSC, but Biology is a very popular/competitive major at all the UC’s.
