How do I decide which I want to apply to? They seem pretty similar, except that CAAM is in engineering, but it's still math... I'm just really confused, can anyone help me out? Right now it just seems like CAAM would be smarter because you might get an engineer scholarship.

In my opinion, it really doesn’t matter. In your essay explaining why you are applying to your school of choice, you can write about why you are interested in one (presumably slightly over) the other, but explain how both interest you and you really aren’t sure which yet. If you are admitted, you can move between the two freely. Go with your gut as to which you’d enjoy better, and put that one first. You have plenty of time to change your mind between now and when you apply, and then again if you’re admitted.

It genuinely does not matter which school you apply to unless you’re a music or architecture major. The chances at getting a substantial scholarship are extremely small, so apply to the school for which you currently feel you can write the best essays.

CAAM and Math are actually quite different, IMO. They are similar to comparing chemical engineering and chemistry or mechE to physics. CAAM is more focused on applying mathematical principles.

One way or another, take an intro class to both when you get here and see how you like it.
