Cable TV

So, what's the story on cable hookups in the rooms? I'm planning to sign up for a Broadview single and I was wondering what the TV situation is. I am very into movies and tv and I will have to see my Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy on Sunday nights. Does the school offer cable or a list of channels or do you have to have it installed personally?

Thanks.

See my post in the regular Chicago forum <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=174855%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=174855</a></p>

you realize that desperate housewives and grey's anatomy are both on broadcast TV right? Movies work just fine through anything that can play dvds...

Your house lounge should have cable (if you live in a max building...there are probobly at least 4 rooms with cable TV available in case one is in use). There are hookups in every room in most buildings but you will have to pay for it...non-basic cable isnt cheap and its probobly not worth it (I dont know anyone who has it). Either stop watching, start watching in the lounge, or start downloading.

Cable TV is very cheap at uChicago. Comcast offers deals for students, as long as you sign up before 1 October. They change every year. Last year, basic cable (broadcast channels, TNT, Nickelodeon, MTV, ESPN, etc.) was $14.99 a month and premium digital cable with HBO and Starz! was $24.99 a month. The amount of kids who gets cable isn't large, probably about 10-15%. Most dorms are not cable ready. AFAIK, only Max and Shoreland offer cable in the dorms.
