Cable TV

Just wondering what channels they have in the dorms. I'm really looking forward to it because I've never had Cable TV in my house :(

Hopefully I can finally watch 'The Daily Show with Jon Stewart' (Comedy Central) on TV instead of video clips off the internet

Comedy Central, MTV, MTV2, VH1, Fox Sports, College Sorts TV, among others...no ESPN though :(

anyone know what other channels there are like nbc, cbs, fox, etc…? need my football on sundays =(

For cable we just have the coax output from the wall? I want to find some way to connect it to my monitor since it’s HDCP enabled. :X

nbc, cbs, fox, abc, those have to be there since they are local channels.

ESPN is included

The channel lineup is here
[UC Irvine - Resnet - Cable TV Channel Line Up](http://resnet.uci.edu/cabletv/channel_lineup.asp)

Is there a way to watch TV on your computer without buying a PCI TV tuner? My monitor has an HDMI/DVI and VGA interface…

Will a slingbox do?

ah ok thanks

and there is always hulu([Hulu - Watch your favorites. Anytime. For free.](http://www.hulu.com)) for watching tv shows…

A slingbox costs even more :X I think for cable you need to buy a cable tv tuner card, but I’m not sure.

Are there full episodes on Hulu?

yup, they only last so long but it’s good if you missed a show or something
