I've been getting less and less sleep, and I'm wondering: how much does coffee really help when it comes to not being tired?

I'm not a coffee addict yet, as I've heard it can get physically addicting, but as a rising senior I'm curious: how many of you drink coffee, and does it help?

I drink coffee on days I need a boost (Mondays…) because getting addicted is a concern for me. Caffeine provides energy, but really doesn’t help with tiredness in the long run. I do drink a lot of decaf though because I love the taste.

I’ve been pretty severely addicted to caffeine for the past few years, so I’m not as affected by coffee as I used to be, but I don’t think most regular coffee does all that much unless you drink several cups in a row.
Energy drinks are more effective, but if you drink them every day (which is obviously bad for you) they’ll affect you less and less.
Most of the time I just make sure to get enough sleep, and on days where I really need to stay awake I drink an energy drink before I go to school.

You build a tolerance to it over time, so it gets less effective.
It can help give you a short boost, but over the day the effect will be more negative than positive.
