Cahnces for Vanderbilt, Rice, Wash U?

I'm happy about my grades, but the main thing I'm worried about is my EC's. Sure, I have a lot, but it's basically a laundry list- it doesn't show a clear, focused passion for anything. Also, I didn't do much at all until 11th grade, and I haven't gotten to the state or national level in anything (save for band)

Are you serious?! Any university would LOVE a black person with a 34 on their ACT. (not to be racist, but in all seriousness). Your extracurriculars are amazing, they clearly show a deep passion for band and community service. Any of those schools are easily reachable for you.

I disagree with you. You have a very strong passion for music, and you have great stats- I think you’d be competitive for all of the schools listed. Are you looking to be in any of the school bands?

WUSTL is where my son will be going this fall- you can improve your chances by showing interest by interviewing on campus if you’re able to or by attending an information session if they come to your area.

Best of luck!
