<p>You get 1500 the first two years and 2000 the last two years. However, you have to apply to renew the scholarship each year.</p>

<p>It's the same thing: write application essay and then do interview. The timeline is different; you submit the essay in the summer and interview in the fall. It's definitely not an automatic guarantee for renewal. You have to show that you've maintained leadership at Cal, and being involved in the Alumni Scholars Association helps A LOT.</p>
