I'm a 19 year old Hispanic American from NJ. At this point my cumulative GPA is a 3.6 through one year of college but now in my 3rd semester its looking good and I could possibly get a 4.0 this semester if I somehow pull an A in my general chemistry class. anyway, I think at worst, I'll be looking at a 3.7 or 3.8 this semester. I finished the application for Cal-Berkeley and UCLA a couple of weeks ago and I'm going to submit it on 11/1, but I just want to know if this will work:

My Plan
If I get into Cal-Berkeley for next fall I plan to move to California on my own (using the money I'm saving up from my current job) and establish a permanent residence there (an apartment), get another job when I get there, possibly take classes at a CCC (even though I will have 60 transferrable credits by then) reapply for the Fall 2011 semester and then if I get accepted at either enroll in Fall 2011.

A couple of questions.
If I can maintain an extremely high GPA (in the 3.8-4.0 range) do you think this plan will work? I think I wrote compelling personal statements.
If admitted for Fall 2010, will reapplying next year strengthen my chances? (I can't enroll immediately because it'd be unaffordable)
If I'm not admitted, would moving and enrolling at a CCC and then doing extremely well in my classes give me a good shot?
I got a 720 on the writing section of my SATs in HS. Would this exempt me from the UC compostion class requirements? According to their site, it does.
If I transfer with over 60 credits can I apply as a junior applicant? Thats what I would really like to apply as

I know it seems really risky, but I really want to go to either Cal-Berkeley or UCLA
