<p>I am planning to pursue a major in mechanical engineering next year in college. I live in Arizona. I have been accepted to Barret's at ASU, and did not have to declare major yet, and was also accepted to Berkeley, but as a Civil Engineering Major. Which school would be a better choice for next year? Is there a huge difference in the education for either and does either offer a much better chance for grad school or for being hired for a job than the other?</p>
<p>Cal is top 3 in engineering (with MIT and Stanford) so yes, there is a huge difference between Cal-Eng and ASU. That being said, Cal is mighty expensive for OOS. Does Barrett’s give you a full ride? Even so, I’m not sure that $55k/yr is worth it.</p>
