Hey, I was just wondering if anyone know's the price of MacBooks in the Cal Computer Store. I am trying to look at the price but I am not in the directory yet so I can't authenticate to see the price. Does anyone know or can you find out for me? The website is:

$949

......

Same price as the Apple store or apple.com if you look with the educational discount.

^^ Actually it isn't. If you buy it from Apple, with the discount it is $999.

Learn something every day.

I bought a MacBook Air after reviewing the various TSW prices and the Apple prices which were identical (for the models I checked and at the time I checked them, obviously).

In any case, found a better deal at Amazon.com as no California tax is charged. If you have prime option with Amazon, also get 2 day air shipment free. Finally, Amazon offers a $50 rebate for laptop purchases, which further drives down the price relative to TSW and apple.com. This was true even though the Amazon.com price was sans educational discount.

Your mileage may vary.

^ i got my macbook pro off amazon for a better price than the apple store WITH edu. discount.

how do you you buy from amazon with the edu discount? who's the seller, amazon or is it someone else? Links would help too.

Thanks

Read it carefully.
He said that he bought from Amazon without the edu. discount, but that it was still cheaper than the apple store with the edu. discount.

Hmm... Looks like I'll have to explore my options some more.

Look at bottom line price, inclusive of tax and shipping. Those items can be larger than the educational discount amount. For Amazon, also look at the rebate amount if offered, although annoying rebates require you to wait 8 weeks for the money.
