Cal Day is same day as my prom. I am leaning towards Cal but would like to see the campus one more time, I's like to see the dorms too. Cal would have been my last re-visit to schools I got into, any suggestions?

i'm not gonna lie to you. choosing cal day over your senior prom seems like a silly choice to me. you've already been to cal and if you liked it then, i don't think too much is going to change. personally i've already been there and the only reason i'm going again is to visit the dorms and get a better feel for housing. but you can get a lot of that from touring the dorms online and talking to current cal students. i say prom all the way. think about it... 20 years from now you're not gonna say "oh man, cal day was the BEST day of my life. i'm so glad i went!" but chances are you could be saying "wow, senior prom was amazing. the best night of my life. i'm glad i didn't miss it."

but that's just me.

it's silly to choose cal day over prom.

i guess i didn't phrase my ques right. I am definitely going to prom. I have been to Cal a couple of times but never as an admitted student and would like to go back again to see the dorms mainly. Is there another chance to visit before May 1?

i'm pretty sure they give daily tours. (they don't all go into the dorms though so you should probably call and see which days they will be.) if you live close enough to just drive on up, i don't see why not to. if you've been a couple times though i don't see it really changing your opinion.

Yeah Cal Day...I mean, it's just one giant Open House and it's not even exclusively for pre-freshmen. So honestly, if you just came any other day, you might actually get a better sense of what "regular" school is like. THere are tours all the time (I've seen a sharp increase in the number recently), and you can do ResHall tours as well. You have to make an appt I think...you can check the housing.berkeley.edu website.

Cal Day is great, and if you want to go there instead of senior prom, that's your decision. There are many special activities, so it will not a normal day, and you would get a chance to see certain things that are normally unavailable, but then again, there's your prom. shrug
