I got rewarded a Cal Grant A, but since I decided to got to CC, it was put on reserve. I am going on my 3rd year at CC and will transfer to UC in 2020 Fall. Cal Grant only allows you to reserve the award for 2 years, however I am going to appeal for a 3rd year. I saw that I had 4 years of eligibility remaining for my Cal Grant A since it is one reserve. However, I am going to transfer to UC and spend 2 years to complete my Bachelors, therefore I will have only 2 years of eligibility remaining. Correct me if I am wrong. So, I was wondering, what happens to the other 2 years of eligibility remaining. Does it apply if I try to pursue my masters, or is there something I am missing?
I believe Cal Grants are for undergraduate studies only.

You can and should always contact the CalGrant office. They are very good with answering your questions. Over the phone, they can explain how they calculate what you have left.
You get up to 4 years of grants, total combined with how you were disbursed payments, if any at the CC. There is a limit. The maximum is usually 2 years at your transferred college; their idea is to help you to receive a degree. The State of California has VERY limited funding for residents, so their intention is to “spread the wealth” for as many residents as they can. It’s not a bank account in that you don’t get to save up the remaining amount for grad school.

Okay I understand now. Thanks for the help.
