Cal Grant? and other e.pay questions

Is it just me or is cal grant not up yet? Anyone have any idea when it should be up? And also, since it's my first year taking out loans and I read that loan disbursements can take up to 30 days after the start of class, and I have to wait at least until after loan counseling, should I just ask for a deferment now? Is there a fee? Thanks

It was actually up for me on the 14th as scheduled. I would call FAO and find out if its a delay or anything.

you should call. my cal grant is also up.

i haven’t gotten the cal grant either :(

Did you guys confirm that you graduated high school? On the Cal Grant page it’ll tell you to do so. No forms or anything are required. You just check something and agree to burn in hell if they find out you’re lying.

Same here! Cal Grant’s not up yet, but the other federal grants are.

does anyone know if USC still expects us to pay that account balance (without the cal grant) by aug 21 (the deadline) ?? i’m supposed to receive about 7k in cal grants and i don’t want to pay a late fee! :(

lilly, are you sure you did a school change and have USC listed as your school of attendance? If it is showing $7,000 on *Webgrants for Students *<a href=“CSAC - Student Landing Home”>CSAC - Student Landing Home; you might still have a UC listed first. Unless they changed it this year, the USC Cal Grant should be $9,708.

OH oops yeah i meant 9708 from cal grants…hah.

ok i just checked the cal grant website and it says that my cal grant award (9708) is for usc… but it’s on HOLD. is it supposed to be on hold…? :/

Anyone still missing their Cal Grant? Mine hasn’t posted yet and I’m wondering if anyone else has the same problem. The Fin Aid people said not to worry but just wondering if anyone else is also waiting. THANKS!!

uh yeah mine hasn’t come yet. they’ll give us a late fee waiver but it’s our responsibility to take care of it.

Mine hasnt come yet either. Anyone know what the “Finance Charge (12% APR)” is?? Is that the late fee…?

You can call the financial aid and ask them to reverse the late fee because these are things that are not in your control. Last year, the NMS scholarship from my corporation was not posted in my daughter’s account until Sept, I called and they reverse the interest. Btw, it’s not a late fee.
