Cal grant denied, reapply in college?

<p>Can a student have their cal grant denied based on highschool gpa, and apply again in college with their college gpa earned in frosh year for cal grant to be awarded sophmore year? Does that work? If so, what are the steps to take? </p>

<p>I think you should direct this question to your guidance office, college, or the CSAC but it does seem that would be possible. From CSAC’s website:</p>

Cal Grant A Entitlement Award
Students who meet all the Cal Grant requirements, have at least a 3.0
grade point average, and apply by March 2 either of the year they graduate
from high school or the following year are guaranteed a Cal Grant A.</p>

<p>Cal Grant B Entitlement Award
Students who meet all the Cal Grant requirements, and have at least a 2.0 GPA and apply by March 2 of the year they graduate from high school or the following year are guaranteed a Cal Grant B.</p>

<p>A minimum 3.00 high school GPA, or minimum 2.40 college GPA is required
for Cal Grant A; a minimum 2.00 GPA is required for Cal Grant B.
