Cal Grant & FAFSA

Hello Everybody!

I have a question regarding Cal Grant & FAFSA. I am currently a first year at UCSD. I am receiving Cal Grant & FAFSA I believe. My concern is if I have to fill out the application again this coming year (next week when it opens I believe?)... So if you guys know anything about that, please help me confirm and if the process is similar. Thank you! Take Care.

You have to fill out the FAFSA every year.

BUMP

Bump what? You have to complete the FAFSA after January 1. Submit it to your college.

Hoping one of the Calgrant experts here will tell you if anything else needs to be done.

You won’t need to submit anything else as a continuing Cal-Grant student other than the FAFSA (after January 1st, 2015) to re-qualify. Your income still needs to be under the specified ceiling for your family size. You do not need to worry about having a submit your GPA, like you did in high school.

I thought you had to send in college gpa. I could be wrong.

You do not need to submit a college GPA after you have originally qualified out of high school.

So I just complete the FAFSA again on January 1st? Furthermore, that will take care of the Cal Grant for my second year?

Correct.

You can still login onto the cal grant website to see the status just to make sure.

Alright, thank you guys!

If you login to your cal grant you will see both items checkmarked below:
