Hi! so the cal grant emailed me saying my gpa was never received and I swear I mailed it at least 5 days before the deadline. I'm not sure if it got lost in the mail or whatever happened but I did send my gpa. And i'm really freaking out. The email says if I did send my gpa I have to show proof that I sent something. But I don't have any, all i did was mail it I didn't do the mail certificate whatever. Is there any other way I can show proof that I did send my gpa before the deadline? or should I just send a Late GPA verification and tell them my situation? please any suggetions asap

No, if you didn’t get proof of mailing, then your only option is probably the Late GPA Verification. Good luck!

dodgersmom, if I do the late gpa verification is it a guarantee that i’m gonna get the cal grant this year or no?

No, it’s not a guarantee. The verification form is an appeal - and it can be either granted or denied.

The form says you need proof . . . whether or not they’ll believe you without proof is anybody’s guess. I just don’t know. Sorry.

I’m on the same boat!!! My schools never got mine. I’m seriously freaking out because without it college is too expensive. So what I did was send in the Late GPA form last friday. But I read that it takes 6-8 weeks for it to be processed. And I also have no proof I mailed it. Did you try calling the Cal Grant office?

^ Ugh! i sent mine by mail so i wonder if it got lost or destoryed somewhere im freaking out too! what did you put on your gpa form reason? i’ve been trying to call them i emailed them yesterday but havent replied yet so now im trying to call them.

did you call them?

For future - it really is worth the money to send something priority mail with delivery confirmation. You keep the stub and can go online to see where the package went or if it was delivered.

A second alternative if you print the USPS label online and put a note in the comment section, you can track it. There is a box you can check to send you an email with the package is delivered. It’s worth it for critical issues and they give you the delivery confirmation and tracking for free.

You can do a late submission until May 16th we had to do ammended taxes and found out my d was now eligible, there is form you can print out , fill out and attach documentation explaining reason and mail to the Cal Grant people

Basically I wrote that I did send the form on time but my schools never received it so I’m assuming it got lost in the mail. I know its a crappy reason. But I did not know what else to put.

Wait a sec . . . are you sure it wasn’t received? My understanding is that it can take up to six weeks to process the GPA verification. So maybe it’s there, but just not showing up in your records yet?

dodgersmom. i called today and the person told me to wait at least 1-2 weeks more if nothing happens then send the late gpa appeal. becuase they said they haven’t finished processing all gpa’s

I suppose i’ll just wait a bit then submit the late gpa appeal later on

@ArtsandLetters yeah , totally gonna do that from now on it was my first time mailing things and stuff i didn’t know what to do haha

Hey did you ever hear back from the Cal Grant office? I haven’t yet. Getting worried :(
