Cal Grant GPA Verification Form for UC's?

Alrighty,
So I always thought that they determine if you're eligible for Cal Grants through your FAFSA application that you fill out online. Did any of you guys turn this Cal Grant GPA Verification Form on March 2nd? Or am I the only one that didn't?! :-( Btw I'm a transfer student.

Thanks guys. Help a confused person out! :-)

I didn’t have to do anything other than fill out a FAFSA form, because schools do them automatically (Electronically send your GPA)

Not all schools do. One should always check to see if their school submitted one’s GPA or not.

EggyHam: This is why it is always good to check all requirements. The GPA verification is listed in several places. Hopefully, your school did submit your GPA. If it was a CCC, they are usually quite good about that, but one should never rely on that. Have you checked your CSAC account to see if it was submitted?

They should have done it automatically but you never know. You should have checked just in case.

Register on this website and it will tell you if it was submitted or not

Hey guys. Just saw this thread and I just checked and one of my colleges has sent the gpa verification. The other hasn’t. Wonder if it’s too late because it’s past the March 2nd deadline. Eggyham you should check before it’s too late.

Same with me acoustickitty123 i only have on of the schools i attended send a gpa verification. do the schools i applied to get the gpa verification as well, because i dont want it to seem as if im lying about my gpa since my cumulative gpa is different from my gpa at only one school.

gahhh i hope it doesn’t factor into college admission :(

Uctransfer2012, this sucks  I’m gonna go to my college on Monday that didnt send in the cal grant gpa verification and ask them. I’ll let you know. I have a feeling the school with the most units sends the gpa verification. Did the school that sent the gpa verification have more units than the one that didn’t send a gpa verification?!

@acoustickitty123 yea, my primary school(or the one with more units) sent my gpa verification, but if they don’t send a gpa verification from my second school then my gpa drops ( my gpa would drop by a whole 0.10)

yea let me know what happens i might call each uc individually and ask if it factors in my admission. also does your cal grant only list one school? mine just says UC Berkeley i don’t understand whats going on.

Mine says UCSD! I don’t get it…my brother did my FAFSA and maybe he listed UCSD first and then the other schools after that. My gpa drops a lot without the other school’s gpa. But I don’t think the cal grant has anything to do with admission decisions. You put in both schools and units + grade in the UC application so you have nothing to worry about. Let me know what the UCs tell you

i hope not, because that woould suck. im worried because its a real legit gpa verification so iono im paranoid.

Will let you know what happens, god damn this is stupid.

Agree. Don’t worry. I doubt it has anything to do with admission decisions. Monday is a day away. Asap I’ll let you know. Don vorry lol

The GPA verification is not going to be sent to the colleges you applied to. You will be asked for transcripts after you are accepted, though.

CSAC lists the first eligible schools that you listed on your FAFSA. It has no bearing on acceptance or anything else other than it was pulled to put a school there. When you have been accepted to the school you wish to attend, you update CSAC to reflect the campus you will be at so that the correct school will be able to receive the funds.

The multiple college issue I have no direct experience with (I had three colleges, but I officially only transferred from the third one and all my records from the first two had been transferred there).

One should never expect a college (or in the case of incoming frosh who might read this: a high school) to submit the GPA verification without being requested to do so. Thankfully, most CCCs are pretty good about sending in the form themselves, but as seen: there can be an issue when multiple colleges are involved. I can’t comment on this with any real insight since I have no direct experience. However, my speculation is that maybe it is in relation to where one took classes (and how many units one has) at the time the GPA verification needed to be submitted (winter quarter/spring semester).

Thanks for clearing that up Kender! :-)

when are cal grant reward decisions supposed to be posted?

thats a good question happy

As long as you have one college listed that submitted your GPA, you should be fine. I called the CalGrant office and they basically just told me to submit my highest GPA to them from any college. I’ve attended 4 different CCs, all of which automatically submit the GPA verification form, and the only one listed on my CalGrant app is one in which I only took 6 units, but had a 4.0 GPA. I have a cumulative GPA of 3.67 from all four CCs combined, so I think it just lists whichever GPA is highest, regardless of your amount of units. Also, as long as you have a 3.0, the amount of the grant isn’t going to change whether you have a 3.01 or 4.0; so, if you’ve attended multiple CCs and have above a 3.0 at all of them, it shouldn’t matter which one shows up on your application.

The college that submitted my mine had the most units and the lower gpa :-/

yea i don’t really care about the grant as much as i care about gettin into college. So if the gran’t doesn’t affect decisions then i would be happy.

your nuts. That “grant” could be as much as 15k dollars!

You wouldn’t be saying that if some grant’s help you cover housing costs. Meh, just like dilapidatedmind stated, it doesn’t matter what the GPA is…as long as your school sent in a gpa verification form. Thank the lawd

the cal grant would be useless to me if i don’t get into the college of my choice is what i was trying to say.
