Cal Grant GPA Verification

Sorry, if this was answered elsewhere but I couldn't find any information through searching the forum.

I heard that to renew a Cal Grant, a GPA Verification is not necessary and that all you have to do is send in the FAFSA.

However, I was ineligible for the Cal Grant last year but I think I might qualify this year. I'm a fall admit freshman by the way if that helps.

Checking BearFacts, I see the Transcript Verification/Request tab under Academic Record but I don't know where and who to list as the recipient or if we even have to do this.

So does Berkeley automatically file your GPA to Cal Grants for you or do you have to do it yourself in my situation?

I already emailed my financial aid counselor but I'm not sure when she'll be getting back to me.

Thanks!

hmm...i am having the same problem too.

cal grants

Yeah, would have been better if I had posted this sooner with the deadline being tomorrow and all...

But hopefully, your school can do electronic mail verification.

What I did was go to the financial office (room 211) in Sproul Hall and then I was told to contact my high school. The Registrar was a more than a little aggravated and blamed me for my 'untimeliness' (I asked last week). It shouldn't have been a problem at all but my school is partially stuck in the archaic age (she asked ME how to send it electronically) and everything had to be done by paper and snail mail.

Hope that helps.
