Cal Grant: HELP NEEDED DESPERATELY

So being the anti-procrastinator I am, I finished my fafsa a month early and turned in the cal grant gpa form to my counselor 4 weeks early. I assumed that I was all set and just needed to wait to get an email and my acceptance letters.

However, news that my friend already received his CalGrant on March 5th (even though he turned everything in later than I did) alarmed me greatly. I checked into the webgrant portal and realized my GPA verification form was never submitted by my college specialist.

Is there anything I can do? I know there is the appeals, but does that guarantee anything? My EFC is 0 and my accumulative weighted GPA is 4.17 and my unweighted GPA 3.84. Both of my parents are out of work, so one can easily deduce that I really need the money for college.

Please help with any advice or ideas. I'm truly at a lost.

Thank you.

The March 2 deadline is very strict. You are more than likely SOL for Cal Grant if that GPA verification was not submitted on time. This would also leave you ineligible for Blue&Gold for the UCs as one of the requirements is that Cal Grant have been applied for (FAFSA plus GPA verification) by March 2.

There’s no harm in calling CSAC and asking, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up too much.

Others might have better suggestions on other options you might have available.
