hi, i submitted my first version of fafsa with sdsu, ucd, etc. then i sent an updated copy with cal poly slo, etc.

sdsu sent me my financial aid package with pell grants, ws, loans, and state university grant.

i plan on going to either ucd or sdsu, not cal poly. but the cal grant website list cal poly as my main school because it was the last fafsa correction i sent in. (i tried changing it on the website but it would not let me).

how would i make sure i get cal grant for sdsu or ucd?

also, if i receive cal grant would they deduct the amount from my sug or take out the sug overall? -(because cal grant b is only 1500 and i receive over 3600 in sug.)

Your CalGrant for UCD will be higher than your CalGrant for SDSU since the CalGrant covers tuition, which is higher at UC than the State Colleges.

When you decide where you're going, call CalGrant and let them know. As I recall, they asked us to change FAFSA to put the selected college in the first spot-- then the finaid offer for the selected college changed to include the CalGrant. It didn't happen until April, as I recall...

Our UC University Grant in the finaid offer was decreased by the amount of the CalGrant when UC found out about the CalGrant and included it in the package.

So when you get your financial packages from all of the <california> schools, the CAL Grant is only applicable to one school?</california>

If you qualify, you should get the Cal Grant at all of the CA schools you apply to. Then, as sblake7 said, you let the Cal Grant people know which college you finally decided to attend.
