I just checked my status for first time because i never received a mail from cal grant. It said "Application Awaiting Processing" and also that they haven't received my gpa verification.. and i know that my school sends it electronically... help? (in UCSD financial aid report it said i got "possible cal grant A" if that helps)

Post this in the Financial Aid forum if you haven’t already.

That’s weird, my cal grant status says “application awaiting processing” too but it has a green check mark by GPA verification received. Might want to check up on that, could just be some type of time thing though.

So if somehow my GPA form wasn’t sent by my school… will i able to get anything? And why does the UCSD site then say that i received possible Cal grant A. it’s confusing…

I would call in and check man. If someone made an error, it’s not your fault, thus you will still get the grant no matter what. They’d only not care if it’s you who made the error.

because i’m not sure why my status would be:
Application Awaiting Processing
-Your application for a Cal Grant was received but the California Student Aid Commissionhas not yet assigned Cal Grant awards. Please recheck your application status after the deadline has passed.
if my GPA verification form wasn’t sent in… then my application would have been incomplete or something. any thought?

Just check with UCSD and ask them what is up. If there’s a problem somewhere they will fix it. They’re not going to be like “Oh that’s too bad, we ****ed up, sucks for you.” They’re not going to let you take the heat, know what I mean?

thanks. by the way i noticed that u have “application awaiting processing” so u still havent’t received cal grant awards in mail or online status yet?

Nope. I think it might take till summer.

why so late? Didn’t most people get their letters yet?

Really? Last summer I read about a bunch of people not getting their cal grant’s set yet. I don’t know what’s going on really.

oh. so it’s not a problem not having the letter yet? I haven’t looked at last year’s posts. Can you get lower than the amount it says u’ll get in UCSD’s possible cal grant $7788?

I don’t think so. I hope not.

Well in the site it says:

When will I know if I’ve received a Cal Grant?

After you apply, you can track the status of your Cal Grant application online by using WebGrants for Students; https://mygrantinfo.csac.ca.gov Log on to set up your personal, confidential account.

If you met the Cal Grant application requirements and qualify for a Cal Grant, you’ll receive an award letter, also known as the California Student Aid Report, or CAR. If you qualify for a Cal Grant Entitlement award and your application was received on time and needs no corrections, you should receive a CAR by the end of March or early April. If you have not heard from the Commission by April 30th, please call toll free 888-224-7268 or email studentsupport@csac.ca.gov to check your application.

Oh crap now you got me all worried. :(

I’m glad my school does it for me :D

my school did gpa verification electronically… and we didn’t have to do anything… So it’s wierd seeing GPA not received…hopefully it’ll all clear up soon
