Cal Grant Question. Please Help

Hello. I’m currently enrolled at California State University of Bakersfield for my Third Year.
Ever since attending I have been receiving financial aid as an AB 540 student/ DACA/ Dream Act financial aid and have always been eligible for a Cal Grant B.
In July of 2015 however, I married and obtained my U.S Permenant Resident card and quickly proceeded to apply for financial aid through FAFSA for the 2016/2017 year. However, my university told me that my Cal Grant got rejected becasue of a mandatory “wait time” of 1 full year and that Cal Grant wont even look at me until they reclassified me as a U.S Resident. Its been a full year already and nothing has changed. Am I missing something? I’ve already presented the university with proper copies of my Resident Card, SSN, etc. and no Cal Grant award has been issued.

If someone could shed some light into this matter I would highly appreciate it. Or should I call a lawyer? Lol
Thanks!

its ture. in oder to receive the cal grant you have to be in-state for more than one year with legal residency. i don’t know if they allow you to apply when your spouse meet the requireme but i did had cal fee waiver when i was in college using my dads document.
