Cal Grant Question

I checked the status of my cal grant and it says it has been recieved my USC (only one of the many schools I applied to). I don't even know how this happened. When I completed my fafsa, i entered all schools i applied to.

so could this be the reason I didn't receive a cal grant from the UC's i got accepted to?

If there’s a particular UC you’re considering, contact the financial aid office and ask. Unless there’s been a mistake somewhere (unlikely), they will have access to your Cal Grant info, and they should be able to tell you what your financial aid package would be if you enroll.

I’m still trying to figure out why some CA schools send this info out ahead of time, and others don’t. But contact the financial aid office and ask!

My guess, by the way, is that USC was at the top of your list, but still, how are you supposed to make a decision if you don’t know your awards from the other schools?

I’ve heard from other people answering this question that they only list the first school that you listed on your FAFSA and that, if you are awarded the cal grant, you can only go in and change the school to the school that you are going to attend after that.
