Can someone help me analyze my cal grant situation.
My web grant shows that:
Award Status Summary Award Cycle ID
Cal Grant A: Not Awarded Competitive (C1)
Cal Grant B: Not Awarded Competitive (C1)
Cal Grant C: Not Awarded Competitive (C1)
But my friend’s says that:
Cal Grant A: disqualified-Not Awarded
Cal Grant B: Qualified-on hold
Cal Grant C: Not Awarded
I am hoping someone who knows cal grant can explain what is the differences and maybe tell me why I did not receive any message about my qualification?
You can call CSAC. I can only guess. Were you not qualified for A and B, so you are trying for the compeitive grant and there are only limited ones, not everyone get one. I’m not even sure if they are finished or an award can still come.
More importantly is the award you are getting from UCLA and if they will cover your ‘need’ if cal grant doesn’t.
Do you mean that if I did not get cal grant, ucla would offer the corresponding amount of aid to replace my missing cal grant?
They may. I have seen it done. It likely depends on your income level.
Thanks a lot. I guess I will ask staff in ucla financial aid department
