Cal Grants Award Type decided by the State or School?

Hi I applied to UCLA, UCSD, UCI, UCR and I received Cal Grant A ( Estimated $11,124) at UCR where I was officially accepted. I still haven't been officially accepted to the other UC's but I have TAG for all of them except UCLA. Since I received a Cal Grant at UCR, am I going to receive a Cal Grant at the other UC's? I'm not sure if each individual UC determines how much you should receive or if the state does.

My Student contribution is 6,208 and my GPA is 3.95. I know they use that info to determine if you qualify for aid.

Cal Grant is a state program and qualification is based on state rules. So yes, you will qualify for Cal Grant at all participating California colleges. The UCs are included in this.

Cal Grant is a set amount of money. It does not alter like Pell Grant does based on your EFC. It is based on income and asset ceilings along with size of family. GPA is just a final deciding factor since a lot more people would qualify than there is money for if there was not an academic requirement. The GPA is only higher for Cal Grant A because the income and asset ceilings are also higher.

Thats good to know, thanks
