<p>Yes Stanford INSISTS that you apply for the CalGrant. If you sent your FAFSA to Stanford, I think you should see Stanford listed in your award detail online. I did at least. Just got my daughter's CalGrant detail today. She applied (and sent FAFSA to) 2 CA schools; Stanford and UCSB. When we look at the Award Detail, there is one amount for UCSB and a higher (by about 3K) amount for Stanford. From the Stanford website, it looks like the entire Cal Grant goes to Stanford's part of your package. It does not reduce the family contribution or the "self help". That's what it looks like to me, but I could be wrong. We are waiting for the "final award" from Stanford to see how it factors in. </p>
