<p>I wish I had applied to iHouse. Maybe I still will…maybe I’ll get super lucky. :-/</p>
<p>thedude, the african american program is located in one of the halls of Christian, NOT the whole building. I also got a mini-suite in Christian, maybe we’ll see each other around?</p>
<p>Yea maybe we will. How do you know if you got in the Christian sweet in unit 1 or the slottman halls? Is it on the housing offer? Because I did not see it.</p>
<p>When the housing codes where on the application, I had a CN so I assumed it meant Christian.</p>
<p>dane and dude, im with you guys in the dbl mini suite… im assuming im in christian 'cuz i saw the same CN code back before the codes went poof.<br>
bong rips all around. or whatever it is you dig.</p>
<p>for suuuure. mary jane’s my best friend ;-D.</p>
<p>I got a triple though, which is pretty damn ridiculous when you’re payin ~ 13K.</p>
<p>I am lucky and got a double but I never saw the CN on my housing contract. But I did not see anything from the contract that would indicate that I am in slottman.</p>
<p>I haven’t accepted my offer yet, but i want to change my meal plan, but i can’t seem to go back to the earlier steps, does anyone know how?</p>
<p>^i would like to know this too.</p>
<p>Yeah, it’s pretty ridiculous how the application doesn’t let you go back, or at least easily. I am in Christian as well, got a dbl mini suite. A lot of us here seem to be there.</p>
<p>Yeah, I spoke with the Housing today and they said they will put all the transfers together, as much as they can. That was pretty much my concern about not getting Wada, so hopefully they stick to what they say and just stick the transfers together. My other concern is the price, but there’s not much we can do at this point. See y’ll @ Unit 1!</p>
<p>Just out of curiosity; what areas in Berkeley should I look for or avoid if I decide to pursue a rental?</p>
<p>There’s some good information about that on live journal:</p>
<p>[Our</a> Sturdy Golden Bear](<a href=“http://community.livejournal.com/ucberkeley/tag/housing-apartments]Our”>http://community.livejournal.com/ucberkeley/tag/housing-apartments)</p>
<p>I spoke to Housing this morning, looks like we CAN`T go back. If you need to make any changes in the earlier step, you will need to email housing after you’ve accepted your offer. LAME.</p>
<p>do you have to officially REJECT your housing offer if you’re not staying in cal housing at all?</p>
<p>To those of you that got Clarke Kerr triples or Clark Kerr in general, I had a chance to actually see the facility during my visit to Berkeley for CalSo. I actually walked to Clarke Kerr with other fellow transfer students to see what the triples look like. Surprisingly, I’m not the only one who got assigned to Clarke Kerr. I met MANY transfers who were put into triples in CK, unit 1 & 3. I guess there were more transfers admitted than even before. Hence, the lack of spaces available in Wada/Channing.
Clark Kerr used to be a separate campus for the blind and the disabled so it’s really nice. It has it’s own pool and volleyball courts. The architecture reminds me of the San Juan Capistrano mission. The standard triple rooms are really big. There’s plenty of space.
However, the lady I talked to told me that there’s no guarantee that you’ll end up with other transfers. In the past, many transfers have been roomed with freshman. I also asked about the ridiculous cost of living in CK and I was told that it’s the nicest and largest housing option. I almost forgot to mention, that all of the freshman/sophomore athletes are assigned to CK for this reason. They get “hooked up” apparently.
Additionally, since there aren’t any kitchens, the meal plan is included at one of the nicest on campus dining halls. Apparently, the food is best at Clark Kerr. & Everyone says that CK has the most social atmosphere which is a major plus for me.
And lastly, gaurdianangel, it’s really not that far away. It takes about 10-15 minutes to get to the center of campus. Even if you get a closer unit to live in, you’ll walk a lot anyway. No one really drives. You walk a lot in Berkeley period. So, in a nutshell, Clark Kerr doesn’t seem like it will be THAT bad. (or at least, I hope so- I’ll have to wait and see who my roommates end up being) You have to make adjustments with on campus living in general. I hope this helps anyone who was as concerned with being placed in CK as I was!
See you guys on August 24th!</p>
<p>^ i thought ppl moved in on the 23rd?</p>
<p>People with triples moved in on sat. the 23rd. everyone else can’t move in until sun the 24th.</p>
<p>I think thats only triples in Unit 1/2/3. Triples in Clark Kerr/Non Units still move in on the 24th. I could be wrong though.</p>
<p>yeah…josh is right…the 23rd is only for triples in units 1,2,3</p>
