Unit 2 – RH Std Triple

ew. can I still appeal?

I’m in the same situation as you. They told me you have to accept the offer (which the deadline was yesterday) and then send in an appeal at reshall@berkeley.edu. They’ve informed me that chances of a transfer are extremely low.

Woohoo!

I originally got Unit 1 Triple Suite, however I immediately requested for Transfer, and today I was just informed that I have a spot in Channing Bowditch!

Yeaah, so definitely send those emails in!

Haha, I got an email saying a spot opened up for me in Channing-Bowditch too.

Dude that’s awesome.

Are you gunna take it?

Damn… I didn’t email until last night…

What did you say in your appeals? I told them I’d prefer to live amongst upper division/transfer students.

You should state specifically where you want to transfer into. Otherwise, they’ll just tell you they’ll do their best to group you with the other transfers.

Yeah, I’m definitely taking it. And the only thing I told her was that I’d like to be switched into Channing-Bowditch without really giving a reason. But yeah, I emailed pretty much as soon as I got my initial offer.

I just got a spot in Channing Bowditch!!!
I had a unit 3 triple to start
THE WAIT LIST WORKS!
:DDD

For the people who got a successful transfer appeal, did you pay the $300? I accepted my contract but I withheld paying it because I was about to search for offcampus housing since I didn’t think I could get a spot (granted I think I did email fairly late ~ around the middle of the week) but now hearing all these success stories is making me hopeful again, however I’m afraid I just voided my chance by not paying.

People who appealed, how long ago did you send an email/submit your appeal? I just send mine, I currently have a Unit 2 triple dorm. Hopefully it works.

Gloomy - I think you voided your application by not paying by the deadline. The best thing you can do is ask to be put on a waiting list.

I sent my request for transfer about a week ago, pretty much the day after I received my offer. I did pay my $300, but they will refund me so I can pay my dues to Channing Bowditch.

And you don’t even need to mention why you want to move, just tell them where exactly. It’s a first come, first serve basis so I doubt any extra information is going to help, because I think they wanted any health issues to be discussed in Phase 1 of the housing application.

Wow, this is amazing: I emailed them today asking if I can be offered a different housing assignment(preferably CB or Wada 2) and literally 3 hours later they email me offering a CB apartment!!! So excited, no more Unit 2 triple dorm.

Yeah, screw that unit 2 triple room. Hope my appeal goes through

Well that is irritating to know… I sent them an email last night and got nothing back! I sent a follow up letting them know I had forgotten to specify what rooms I would like and got a short note back.

Damn I’ve already ****ed them off! lol

Appeals are sent to reshall@berkeley.edu, right?

A short note?

Basically, it was a “okay we got it… go away” message. I didn’t want to leave anything to chance which is why I sent out a follow up to my original email to them.

I didn’t specify the dorms I wanted, I figured to protect myself that it was wiser for me to reply and risk a terse response which is what I got. Ah well.

sreyes: That’s where I was told to send them.

I wonder if Channing Bowditch is a safer bet than Wada. Most of the people I know who had successful appeals asked for Channing Bowditch.
