<p>If you look at the financial aid website with Cal, or if you just google Cal Opportunity Scholarship (first link), you will see that not everyone gets this scholarship. It is only offered to students from the partner high schools.
It’s not really a full ride, the amount you get varies depending on your financial need, but the scholarship does pay for the bulk of your tuition/fees.
Once you are a Cal Opp Scholar, you have a faculty mentor, a peer mentor, access to their test bank, invites to their socials, etc. They’re a really welcoming scholarship program working to make freshies get adjusted to Cal life.</p>
